The feeling is neutral.

Happy first day of fall! September was accompanied by crisp morning air and a drop in evening temperatures. While many are ready for pumpkin spiced lattes, there is at least one aspect of fall that I readily embrace – fall fashion.

The fashion mood for ushering in the new season is nude and neutral colors. These shades add a bit a warmth to your wardrobe, as everything seems to transition to greys and blacks during the cooler months. They are also colors that compliment our skin tones. For this post, I am sharing my favorite nude and neutral pieces to add to your wardrobe.

1. Anthropologie Silk Dress

This summer I traveled to Paris, France. I spent a few days walking around in heels and sandals before I realized I had it all wrong. Even when wearing dresses, everyone wore sneakers. Paris is a highly pedestrian friendly and walkable city, so it makes sense that wearing comfortable, yet stylish sneakers would be essential and practical. To create more authentic Parisian looks, I started to wear sneakers with my dresses and skirts as well.

I paired this silk dress with a pale pink blazer and a similar blazer pairing would make this perfect for the summer to fall weather transition.

2. Andrea Iyamah Behati Rust Cropped Top

Rust is a vibrant color for fall and Andrea Iyamah consistently creates gorgeous statement pieces. You can style this cropped top with a pair of high-waisted balloon jeans, like the ones found here for a casual look, or pair it with the matching Behati Rust Skirt to create a chic look for a daytime or nighttime outing.

3. Andrea Iyamah Xena Cocoa Maxi Dress

I enjoy the period of fall when it is still warm and sunny during the day. It is the time for corduroy mini skirts and pumps, but not quite over the knee boots. This dress is another easy and formal look for the summer to fall transition. It is both romantic with the floor sweeping length and sexy with the plunge neckline. The cocoa shade also compliments brown skin tones so well.

4. Maeve Knit Mini Wrap Skirt

Mini skirts are always in style, whether paired with sandals during the summer or textured tights and loafers during the fall and winter. The texture of this skirt makes another piece that transitions well from your summer to fall wardrobe.

5. DIARRABLU Eva Mock Neck Top

DIARRABLU is a ethical fashion brand designed by Senegalese designer and mathematician, Diarra Bousso. The pieces in this brand are designed using algorithms and made to order by artisans. Dress this look up with a fitted pencil skirt or wear with palazzo pants for a more relaxed, but chic look.

6. Maeve Faux Leather Notch Tank

Fall fashion is incomplete without leather. This tank is ideal for layering or can be worn as a cropped tank top. I especially like it styled over a longer button down, collared blouse for a layered business casual look.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Which piece is your favorite? Share your thoughts below in the comments.
